Mother has given me this Book for me to keep as a Diary, so that if anything happens to me, she can give the Book to the Priest, so that it can act as my Confession. I am not sure how that would work, but it takes up very little room, and I suppose I can find time to write in it now and again. And it will let Mother rest easier to know that even if I do not survive, though I think I will, I will not be unshriven.

I'll write more tomorrow Night I think. It is late, and we're off towards Glenfinnan in the morning.
